my new knitting bag

I made a knitting bag a couple of weeks ago

The patch on the front has a sewing machine embroidered ball of yarn and needles and is actually a patch pocket.

It has a 'secret' back pocket.

and interior pockets to hold knitting needles and books and other stuff. Here it is with my knitting already in it. For some reason these photos give me vertigo.

Sadly, I have no more of the polka dot fabric but I am in a red mood and plan to make more in these fabrics.

the end.

adventures in crochet

Hey, I made a kicky beret using only the power of crochet...and some yarn.

This sort of looks like a mug shot. a really dorky mug shot

It started out as the 5th, 6th and 7th attempt at the Pda from the Happy Hooker book. I actually had it almost finished and then decided I hated it due to the 'shell' action, which left much of my bright red hair visible through the hat...and thinking about it- why would I made a wool hat that has big holes in it? Perhaps I should have gotten the yarn that the pattern actually calls for. Sadly, the yarn that the pattern actually calles for is acrylic, and thinking about it- why would I make a hat in acrylic? I like this hat better. It is kicky.

Hairbrushes? No, I've never heard of them. Actually this shot was taken after Clyde and I robbed that bank and before the coppers made me brush my hair for the dorky mug shot

The yarn is Tibet by everyone's favorite Italian Panda The sunglasses are...too big for my face.

side view- jowls and all

All in all I'm rather pleased wth myself and am digging this whole crochet thing. It's efficient, fairly quick and you can make circles that look a whole lot better than knit circles. The big question is, what should I make next...and will my abandoned knitting projects forgive me for neglecting them?
